#EKPC is participating in the National AIDS Spendings Assessment (NASA) Meeting in Dushanbe. This high level meeting with the participation of the UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Tajikistan, Chairman of the CCM, Director of the Republican AIDS Center, representatives of civil society, KP, private sector and EKPC’s “Gender and HIV” grants program partner in Tajikistan “Equal opportunities” NGO, is aiming to assess how the funding and spending components are organized within National AIDS program and what factors and services have been used to effectively strategize AIDS response on the country level.
New cases in Tajikistan have increased by 45%, besides all the efforts, the nature changed and more women and children were engaged in the infection. The infection remains concentrated in key populations. The country needs a strong commitment to address all gender imbalances, disparities and inequalities in access to HIV/AIDS services. It is not HIV that kills, it is inequality that kills.
#EKPC engagement is funded in framework of #SoS_project under “Gender and HIV” grants program.
